Some aspects of the architecture have a Chinese lineage

Posing beside a Chinese guardian figure beside a gate inside the Wat Pho temple complex in Bangkok, A number of large Chinese statues, some of which depict Europeans, are seen within the Wat Pho complex, generally guarding the gates of the perimeter walls as well as other gates within the compound. These stone statues were originally imported as ballast on ships trading with China.Thailand. Also in the Wat Pho grounds is a small raised garden (Missakawan Park) with a Chinese-style pavilion; the centre piece whici is a bodhi tree which is believed to have originally came from a tree in India where Buddha sat while awaiting enlightenment (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2018)
